Victorian Enamel & Pearl Earrings
This portrait was taken in Atchison, Missouri by a photographer named Conklin sometime soon after 1882. The woman is wearing gorgeous enameled gold pierced earrings set with tiny pearls, a beautiful ornate brooch at her throat, and a heavy bookchain necklace. It's a shame we can't see what was at the end of that chain because judging by the opulence of the rest of her jewelry, it was probably quite lovely.
