Victorian Girl - 1880s
Although undated, this photograph appears to date to the 1880s. This intense young woman is wearing a beautiful dress. The yoke appears to be embroidered velvet, trimmed with ruching and a lace collar. The gold oval at her throat appears to be a pendant, dangling from a naturalistic flower brooch shaped like a pansy. The pansy flower appears to be enameled. She has pierced ears, and her dangle earrings have 2 stones, one colored and one clear. Garnets or rubies with diamonds, perhaps?
