Minnesota Victorian Girl with Photo Brooch
This photograph was taken by Ira E. Sumner between 1878 and 1883. One has to wonder if he also took the photograph of the young man which is being worn as a brooch on the lace collar of her elaborately pleated blouse. The piece of jewelry pinned at the bottom of the blouse's yoke may be either a watch or a locket, perhaps with another photograph of the young man who appears to be near to her heart.
