Alice Gale Woods & Robert Woods
This couple lived in Petaluma, California in the late 1800s. He was a wood and coal dealer. In this photograph you can see them in their formal wear, all dressed up for picture taking. Alice's dress is very elaborate, with leg of mutton sleeves, elaborate ruching, applied lace, and emboridery. She wears a simple bar pin bearing a shamrock at the throat of this amazing dress.
