Charlotte Cleo Meyers in 1962

Charlotte was a military wife when this picture was taken. She was 44 years old, mother of 7 children, and had just moved to Alaska, following her husband who had been a World War II pilot. They met in Iowa, where both had been raised, and where she had trained to be a beautician, then married in Mississippi where he was teaching flying. In addition to Alaska, the family lived in many parts of the U.S., as well as Guam, England, and Germany. On her wide collar she is wearing a large metal leaf brooch, similar to the work of Napier and Monet.
