Marjorie Peacock, "Queen Churubusco I"
Marjorie Peacock, the first queen to represent the neighborhood of Churubusco at the annual Mexico City Country Club beauty pageant, was only 16 years old when this picture was taken in 1927. She depicted the perfect flapper girl with her slender figure and daringly exposed arms and shoulders. She is wearing magnificent shoulder duster earrings, probably diamonds, and 2 flexible link bracelets on the upraised wrist. On her left arm is a wristwatch, a very chic accessory at this early date. Marjorie was born in Canada. She and her family were members of the international high society upper class of elegant Mexico City.
