Matron in Pearls - 1920s
This matronly woman has tremendous dignity and calm. Her hairstyle and dress appear to date to the 1920s. She wears a simple strand of pearls - classic in any era - and a pair of drop earrings with shiny stones. Note that the earrings are pierced. Pierced earrings were popular in the Victorian and Edwardian eras, then passed out of fashion until the 1960s when the style was revived.
