Rosa Louise Kahley in 1871
Eighteen year old Rosa went all out when she dressed up for her picture. She is wearing a bejeweled hairband, long dangling pierced earrings, a velvet ribbon at her throat with some kind of small attached charm or token, and a large remarkable strawberry brooch pinned at her collar. Rosa lived in Iowa, daughter of a Civil War veteran farmer. She was married two years later and had 13 children.
