Swoboda of California was begun in 1955. Jewelry from this company is
characterized by thick gold plating and the use of semiprecious
gemstones and real pearls. The designs are outstanding, frequently
using Asian or Victorian themes. It is usually marked with the entire
word, Swoboda, but is sometimes marked SWO. INC if there was not enough
room for the entire name. This company closed in 1985, but reopened
more recently and is once again in production.
