SANDOR
Sandor Goldberger established his jewelry production company in the early 1930s. In the early years he manufactured rhinestone jewelry similar to that of many of his competitors. However, he soon discovered the design talents of one of his employees, Beatrice Grace McGowan, a woman of Portuguese extraction who had been raised in British Guyana. Grace McGowan became the lead designer for Sandor in the early to mid 1930s and remained in that position for 20 years, designing wonderfully colorful and naturalistic enameled flower theme jewelry. Her designs set Sandor apart and remain highly collectible to this day. After her retirement in the late 1950s, Sandor remained in business until the 1970s.
