Measures 10" long. The faceted purple glass ornament measures 1/2 x 1-1/2". This pretty amethyst-color glass hatpin dates to the late 1800s. It has a chip at the base of the glass, where it attaches to the pin-stem, but is not loose. Despite this small chip, it presents a lovely appearance and would be perfect for Victorian period costuming.
