Victorian Purple Glass Hatpin

Measures 5-1/2" long. The glass ornament measures 1-3/8" in diameter. The beautiful amethyst-colored glass of this spectacular hatpin is molded into a design of circles, with a rope-like border. The back is foiled with gold. Dating to the late 1800s, this pin is in remarkable condition, with no chips or cracks in the glass. The gilding is wearing off the back, but this does not affect the appearance from the front. The brass pin-stem has one small area of oxidation.
