Signed Mexican Sterling Necklace & Earrings Set

Necklace measures 15-1/4" long and 3/4" wide. Earrings measure 5/8 x 1-1/4". This graceful and beautifully constructed necklace lies perfectly at the base of the throat. It is marked with the Eagle mark and the number 23, as well as with STERLING MEXICO around a heart-shaped M with the letters AE inside. This maker has not yet been identified by name, but their work is known for its high quality and beautiful design. Slide clasp holds well. Earring screw backs hold well. Very light patina of vintage silver, more on earrings. No dents or other damage. The eagle mark dates this set to between 1948 and 1977. The styling and materials used indicate a manufacturing date early in this period. (SOLD)
