Outstanding 1930s German Braided Chain Rope Necklace

Measures 42" long. This outstanding and very unusual necklace is hard to describe. Double ropes of finely woven and braided old-gold color wire are capped with filigree balls and accented with faceted milky blue glass beads which simulate the chalcedony which was so popular during this era. Marked MADE IN GERMANY D.R.G.M. on a tiny band at the center of the back of the necklace. This beauty dates to the early 1930s, and it is easy to imagine some moneyed flapper wearing it at an elegant soiree. No damage to beads or metal.
