Early Georg Jensen Silver & Garnets Necklace
Item #BS115125
Measures 1/2" wide and 17.5" long. Very rare and extraordinarily lovely, this early Arts & Crafts style necklace by Georg Jensen dates to circa 1920. The 10 floral/foliate motif plaques each feature a bezel-set garnet cabochon. The lobed rectangular plaques are linked by loops of handmade chain. The lower chain links are slightly longer than those above, allowing the necklace to rest perfectly at the base of the throat, lying in a smooth and graceful curve. Simple T and loop clasp holds securely. Marked GI in block letters inside a circle of dots, 830 inside a circle of dots, DENMARK 2. No damage to stones or silver. Moderate patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed. (SOLD)
