Necklace measures 18" long and 1-3/8" wide at front. Earrings dangle 2-1/2" long. This very sturdy necklace and earrings set is made with the classical attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. The Modernist styling boldly reflects the Pre-Columbian influences of the Mexican Masters. The necklace weighs 106 grams, and the earrings 8 grams each. Striated malachite tesserae are set in a black matrix material and inlaid flush with the substantial silver. The necklace is marked MEXICO 925 TV-96. The earrings are marked JAC inside a circle of TAXCO MEXICO 925. According to The Little Book of Mexican Silver by Bille Hougart, JAC is the mark of silversmith Jorge Castaneda. Slide clasp of necklace holds well. Earring clips hold well. Light patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed.
