Art Deco Cobalt Blue Poured Glass & Rhinestone Collar Necklace
Item #BB111264
The longer strand of this magnificent Art Deco necklace measures 14". It is meant to be worn high on the throat as a "dog collar." Clip back pendant earrings drop about 1-1/2". The necklace is made of cobalt blue poured glass, or pate de verre, framed by braided silver wire. This wire, and the earring backs, appear to be sterling, but we have not tested it. At the center of each ring of blue glass is a large prong-set open-back foiled rhinestone. These have stupendous shine and brilliance. Smaller rhinestones accent each of the braided silver wire links. No missing or dead stones. No wear to foil backs. No chips or cracks in pate de verre. Clip backs hold well. This set is unmarked, but appears to date to 1920s to 1930s France. (SOLD)
