NAPIER
First founded in 1875, this company went through several name changes before becoming Napier-Bliss in 1920 after James Napier became president. In 1922 the name was changed a final time to simply Napier Company. This company is still in business today and continues to be a major producer of costume jewelry. Generally simple in design, Napier jewelry has always been relatively modern in its styling. These designs may be geometric, floral, or Asian in theme. Materials used have included sterling and various types of plating. Use of rhinestones is usually spare.
