Modernist Mexican Silver Checkerboard Cufflinks
Item #BU167301
Measure 1 x 1-1/8". Constructed in layers, with bright silver over deliberately blackened silver behind it to create a strongly contrasting checkerboard pattern. The geometry is broken, with deliberate distortion. Lines which your eye expects to be straight are slightly wavy. Marked FC in a circle of HECHO EN MEXICO TAXCO 925 and with the words STERLING MEXICO. These cufflinks date to the late 1940s. Toggle back holds well. No damage to silver. Moderate patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed. $50.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
