
Virgil Cantini Enamel Earrings

Measure 3/4" in diameter. These beautiful concave copper earrings are enameled with an abstract flowering plant motif. The colors are rich blues, greens, and golds. Marked cantini in script. Virgil Cantini (1919 - 2009) was born in Italy and came to the US in 1930. He was a prominent sculptor, enamelist, and art professor. He recieved many awards and prizes for his enamel work and is featured in a number of books about Modern jewelry and the Wearable Art Movement. Screw backs hold well. No damage to the fronts of the earrings. One earring has a significant chip in the enamel of the back.
