These charming earrings are from the extremely rare and highly desirable
Tortolani Zodiac set. This jewelry was created in about 1960 and was
very expensive at that time. They are on their original card, with the
original paper tag still attached, and measure about 1-1/8 x 1-1/4".
Deeply sculpted with the symbol for Aquarius, the Water Bearer in
antiqued gold-tone. Clip backs hold well. Marked Tortolani in script,
with a copyright symbol. No wear to plating or signs of use. This set
can be seen in a number of costume jewelry reference books including
"Signed Beauties of Costume Jewelry" by Marcia Sparkles Brown,
"Collectible Costume Jewelry" by Cherri Simonds, and "Warman's Jewelry,
2nd Edition" by Christie Romero.
