Hector Aguilar Sterling Earrings
Item #AE15536
Measure 1-1/8" in diameter. The brooch that matches these beautiful earrings can be seen on page 102 of Mexican Silver by Morrill & Berk, Revised Second Edition. Marked on one earring 940 HA TAXCO MEXICO, and on the other with the Eagle mark with a 9 inside. This dates the earrings to the late 1940s. The back of one has also been engraved by a previous owner with what appears to be the initials A.I., probably as theft protection. Screw backs work well. One of the backs has been expertly repaired, as the wire was broken near the earring back. The repair is solid and undetectable when the earrings are worn. The earrings have no tarnish or significant patina. (SOLD)
