Extraordinary 1960s Chanel Jeweled Mesh Belt

Buckle measures 1-3/4 x 2-1/2'. Belt is 5/8" wide. Wearable length is 32-3/4". The buckle of this magnificent gold-tone chain mesh belt is set with Maison Gripoix peaked cabochons and exquisite glass faux pearls. The large green stone at center simulates a rough-cut emerald. Around it are glass "rubies" and mabe' pearls. These are the classic Chanel colors and shapes. The piece is weighty, with quality construction and materials throughout. Marked in block letters directly on the back of the buckle, CHANEL DEPOSE. This mark indicates that the belt was produced during Chanel's lifetime, probably designed by Robert Goossens. No wear to plating or pearls. No chips, cracks, or other damage to the gorgeous glass stones. Vintage jewelry doesn't get any more elegant than this. (SOLD)
