Rare Sonia Lee Large Sterling Quiver and Bow Brooch

Measures 2 x 3-3/4". This very large brooch is extremely eye-catching. The gilded silver bow and quiver are accented by brilliant white rhinestones. The arrows in the quiver are fletched with sapphire blue and white rhinestones. Marked Sonia Lee in script and STERLING. Sonia Lee jewelry is rarely seen. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, this company is known to have been in business during 1946 and 1947. That time frame matches perfectly the size, Retro styling, and materials used in this beautiful brooch. Although it is large and makes a bold visual statement, this piece is quite light and easy to wear. The bow and arrow motif brings to mind Diana the Hunter and Cupid's weapon of love. Safety clasp holds well. Two small loops on the back of the bow allow this piece to be sewn to a garment or worn suspended from a chain. No missing or dead stones. No wear to gold plating.
