LN/25 Marine Corps Patriotic Brooch

Measures 1-1/2 x 3-1/2". This large World War II era brooch gathers together the cap, gloves, and sword of an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. The brooch is plated in gold-tone and enameled in red, white and blue. The enameled insignia on the front of the blue cap is particularly finely done. Marked LN/25. Safety clasp holds well. No wear to enamel or plating. At the tip of the sword there is a small ring. Some other symbol must have dangled from this ring at one time. The brooch is entirely wearable without this element.
