Margot de Taxco Turquoise Enamel Brooch

Measures 1-3/4 x 2-5/8". This lovely brooch was created by Margot van Voorhies Carr. It is one of her earlier designs, as evidenced by the inventory number 5384. The Japanese inspiration common in her work can be seen clearly here in this loose, wave-like spiral which ends in a leafy splash. Marked MADE IN MEXICO STERLING MARGOT DE TAXCO 5384 and with the eagle 16 mark. Safety clasp holds well. There is cracking and crazing of the translucent turquoise blue enamel on the outer loop of the spiral and one very tiny area of enamel loss.
