Fenichel Huge Rhinestone Floral Spray Brooch

Measures 2-3/4 x 4-1/4". This extraordinary brooch represents the transition from Art Deco to Retro Modern styling. It has the sweeping lines and large scale of the Retro era, but the use of large white rhinestones and silver-tone metal are pure Art Deco. The spectacularly brilliant large oval, navette, and pear-shaped stones are open-backed, foiled, and held in place with sturdy prongs. This rare piece dates to the late 1930s. Marked FENICHEL. Safety clasp holds well. No missing stones. A few of the tiny white rhinestones are slightly dulled, but all of the larger stones are absolutely brilliant. No wear to plating. The quality, styling, and presence of this piece is similar to those made by Staret during the same era. Fenichel used only the finest quality components, including the best Austrian rhinestones.
