Jorgen Jensen Pewter Brooch

Measures 2" in diameter. This unusual brooch has a hand-etched scene of an indigenous hunter paddling a kayak in front of a sharply defined snow-capped mountain. The pewter was deliberately darkened to a rich slate gray before the scene was incised into the pewter. Marked PEWTER Jorgen Jensen (in script) HANDMADE DENMARK 164. Safety clasp holds well. This is a beautiful example of the work of the artist who trained in the Georg Jensen workshop. It dates to about 1960 to 1965. No signs of wear or use. (SOLD)
