1947 Walter Lampl Rickshaw Man Brooch
Item #DJ138171
Measures 1-3/4 x 2-7/8" This charming figural gold-tone brooch depicts an Asian man pulling a jeweled rickshaw. He appears to be running briskly. He has black enamel eyes and shoes and red enamel mouth, hat, and sash. The rickshaw is enameled in aqua and red, with blue, red, and purple rhinestones. Marked WL in script on a shield. Safety clasp holds well. No wear to enamel paint. No missing or dead rhinestones. This figure is very similar in construction and decoration to those seen in the 1947 ad for the "Gay Puppet" pins produced by the Walburt division of Walter Lampl. Although it is not shown in that advertisement, this brooch can be safely dated to that time, as well. $325.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
