Measures 1 x 2". This deeply carved orca, or killer whale, is by Kwakiutl artist Pat Seaweed. It is an older piece, dating to the 1970s. The sterling arches in the shape of a full-bodied whale, and the tail has a subtle, but delightful flip which adds energy to the already complex and tightly designed carving. Finely worked cross-hatching, ovoids, and U-forms give life to this very realistic piece. Marked PAS and has its original paper label adhered to the back identifying the artist as Pat Seaweed.
