Walter Lampl Large Sterling Moonstone Flower Brooch

Measures 2 x 3-7/8". This wonderful piece of 1940s jewelry is both elegant and complex. Four wonderful cabochons of opalescent natural moonstone emit a pale blue glow. Three of these measure about 7 x 12.5 mm. The fourth is a little larger, at 9 x 14 mm. The stones are arranged in a spray, with tiny silver flower faces between them. A larger silver flower sits to the right of the graceful leaf and curling stems. Marked STERLING BY Lampl, with Lampl in script. The workmanship and construction indicate that this piece was made in Mexico during World War II. Safety clasp holds well. No scratches or other damage to the exquisite moonstones. Light patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed. (SOLD)
