Walter Lampl Sterling Moonstone Peacock Brooch

Measures 1-3/4 x 3-1/4". A pair of peacocks, tails linked, rest beak to beak. Between them swings an exquisite 7.5 x 11 mm. moonstone cabochon set in an ornate frame. Marked STERLING BY Lampl, with Lampl in script. This outstanding brooch has excellent weight and substance without being so heavy as to be difficult to wear. The detail, lines, and modeling are all outstanding. Safety clasp holds well. Beautiful patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed. This brooch was made in Mexico during World War II and reflects the outstanding craftsmanship of the Mexican silver artisans of the time. (SOLD)
