Measures 1-3/8" in diameter. This lovely piece is smaller in scale than many brooches intended as sash pins. The Arts & Crafts style motif is a little simpler than the Art Nouveau styling seen just a few years earlier, but retains the graceful organic curves and themes of nature seen in that period. C-clasp holds well. Marked STERLING P & B, with each of these characters in a heart. This is the mark for Paye & Baker Manufacturing Company of North Attleboro, MA. This brooch dates to circa 1900.
