Older Signed Mexican Sterling Leaf Brooch

Measures 1 x 2-1/8". This beautifully sculptural brooch has dark patination in the veining of the leaf. It is marked AE inside a heart-shaped M, STERLING HECHO EN MEXICO and with the eagle mark 23. This mark has been seen on jewelry sold by Rancho Alegre, the largest and most popular retail shop in Taxco from 1956 until 1985. This piece dates to before 1977. Safety clasp holds well.
