Patriotic Drum Majorette Brooch circa 1940
Item #DD131292
Measures 7/8 x 2-1/2” This jaunty majorette is highstepping along in front of an unseen band. Her skimpy red, white, and blue outfit is typical of the patriotic jewelry commonly seen before and during World War II. Because she is made of base metal, rather than sterling, she can be dated to immediately before the war. Her face and legs are paved in brilliant white rhinestones, as is the head of her staff. The black enamel boots have tassels at their tops. Beneath the enamel paint and in all of the areas which are not painted, is gold-tone. Safety clasp holds well. No missing rhinestones. One of the tiny rhinestones on the head of her staff is dulled. Very light wear to the paint, most apparent on her elbow, adds to the vintage beauty of this charming piece. $108.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
