Claudette Topaz Japanned Brooch

Claudette Topaz Japanned Brooch

Item #DC1311325

Measures 2-1/8" in diameter. The huge faceted topaz-colored openbacked glass stone is surrounded by yellow, orange, smoky topaz, and aurora borealis rhinestones. All are set in a black lacquer "japanned" openwork metal setting. This brooch has been identified as Claudette by Ann Pitman, author of Inside the Jewelry Box. Other examples of Claudette jewelry can be seen in her book. Claudette brooches were unsigned and are frequently identified by their matching signed earrings. This jewelry is scarce, beautifully made, and features outstanding stones. Considered highly desirable by collectors, Claudette jewelry was made by the Premier Jewelry Company of New York. Safety clasp holds well. No missing or dead stones. No wear to japanning. $235.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
