Stunning & Unique Blue Leather Rose Brooch

Measures 1-3/8 x 1-7/8”. This astonishing brooch dates to the 1950s or early 1960s. Tiny rolled and molded leather roses in varying shades of blue, some with glass faux pearl centers, are tightly clustered onto an oval dome pin. Around the edge is a braided rope of blue leather. All of these leather components have been stiffened so they resemble porcelain. The back of the brooch is dark gray leather. The safety clasp, which holds well, is glued to the leather back and further strengthened with another strip of leather overlay. No missing pearls. No damage or soiling to leather. Upon magnification, some wear can be seen to the nacre of one of the tiny pearls. We believe this pin was made in Germany. $165.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
