Extraordinary Hans Myhre Guilloche Enamel Butterfly Brooch

Measures 1-1/2 x 2-1/2". The detail beneath the white, brown, black, and green enamel of this magnificent brooch emulates perfectly the tiny scales of a butterfly's wings. The gilding on the silver adds to the rich look of this beautifully sculpted piece. Marked with the anchor hallmark of renowned jewelery maker Hans Myhre 925 S STERLING and MADE IN NORWAY. Myhre acquired the Bernard Meldahl and Hroar Prydz jewelry firms in 1950. Safety clasp holds well. No chips or other damage to enameling. The heavy patina of vintage silver on the back of the piece has been left undisturbed. No significant tarnish or patina on front. (SOLD)
