Coro Sterling Frog Duette Clips & Brooch

Item #CS1310217

Measures 2 x 2-1/8". Each clip measures 1 x 2-1/8". Plated with rose gold, these little sterling frog clips are exquisite. The feet, faces, and bodies are enameled green and speckled with brown. The yellow glass cabochon eyes have black pupils. The legs and noses are paved in brilliant white rhinestones. Their bellies are large faceted, open-backed, unfoiled, topaz glass stones. The clips can be worn separately, or together on the Duette frame as a brooch. Marked Coro Duette in script, PAT. NO. 1798867, and STERLING. This is the utility patent, and refers to the Duette frame mechanism, which was patented in 1931. The design patent for this piece is D138,958. This patent was granted to Adolph Katz in 1944. These charming frogs can be seen in "American Costume Jewelry" by Carla and Roberto Brunialti on pages 77 and 79. No missing or dead stones. No wear to plating or enamel. Safety clasp holds well. Clips hold snugly. (SOLD)
