Measures 1 x 2". Rafael Melendez worked for William Spratling until 1939, when he opened his own workshop, or taller, which was called the Plateria Melendez. This piece dates to before 1948. It is marked TAXCO 980 and with the conjoined RM mark. The silver purity is 980 parts per 1000, compared to sterling which is only 925 parts per 1000. Safety clasp holds well.
