Elzac Green Thermoplastic & Lucite "Bonnet Head" Brooch

Measures 2-3/4 x 3". A ruffled bonnet of clear lucite frames the exotic pea-green plastic mask face in this elegant version of the classic Elzak "Bonnet Head." This brooch, with a copper mask instead of the plastic seen here, can be seen on pg. 199 of the book, "A Tribute to America" by Carla and Roberto Brunialti. The design patent, #135, 101, was granted to Elliot Handler in 1943. The brooch was introduced in an ad in Women's Wear Daily in January of 1945 with the name "Bonnet Head." C-style clasp holds well.
