Walter Lampl Enameled Sterling & Marcasite Daisy Perfume Brooch
Item #CN131261
Measures 1-1/4 x 1-3/4". This gorgeous brooch is from the series created by Walter Lampl during the late 1930s featuring flowers of the month. The daisy represents the month of April. Richly detailed enameling in white, green, and yellow is a highlight of this beautiful reticulated design. The rectangular frame is paved with marcasites. On the back is a small reservoir stuffed with the original cotton. This well was meant to hold a drop of perfume. There is no scent or evidence that this cotton was ever used. Marked WL STERLING. Safety clasp holds well. No missing stones. No damage to enameling. No wear to shiny rhodium plating which overlies the silver. Two examples of this original series by Walter Lampl can be seen in the Providence Jewelry Museum. The series has served as inspiration to the contemporary Birthblossom (TM) line of jewelry. $325.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
