Extraordinary German Art Deco Sterling & Poured Glass Brooch
Item #CK136124
Measures 1 x 1-7/8". Set in sturdy silver, this beautiful Art Deco brooch has a large unfoiled open-backed glass faux emerald, with streaky white inclusions designed to resemble the flaws of natural emeralds. Comma shapes of poured glass appear to dance around this center stone, surrounded by brilliant white rhinestones. Marked STERLING and with 2 other very tiny marks on the edges of the sterling "frame." One of these looks like SAZ. The other appears to be an animal of some sort. This type of mark was normally found on German and Austrian jewelry of this period. Old-fashioned safety clasp holds well. No missing or dead stones. Normal patina of vintage silver. $225.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
