Miriam Haskell 1950s Blue & White Floral Filigree Brooch
Item #CJ1352119
Measures 1-5/8 x 2-1/2". Delicate clear and white glass beads mixed with pale sapphire blue rhinestones are layered onto silver-tone filigree. There are frosted white glass flowers with blue rhinestone centers and Murano clear and white glass beads arranged into floral sprays with blue rhinestone accents. This brooch can be dated to after 1948 by the horseshoe plaque stamped MIRIAM HASKELL. This was the first mark used by the company and had dropped from regular use by the early 1950s. It was occasionally used later, however, and this brooch shows some of the characteristics of head designer Robert Clark's work. He was with Haskell for a decade, beginning in 1958. Safety clasp holds well. No damage to beads or metal. Stunningly simple. $350.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
