Exquisite French Pate de Verre Oyster Shell Fur Clip

Measures about 2-1/2 x 3". This wonderful pin clip has clusters of poured glass (pate de verre) oyster shells, each measuring about 1/2 x 3/4", many accented by an opaque black glass bead. These oyster shells have a pearlescent radiance, very similar to natural shell. They are in shades of oyster white to dove gray, with subtle variations within each shell. The oyster-shaped beads are clearly the work of one of the great glass houses of France, quite possibly Rousselet. The little oysters are individually wired to a gold-tone clip back which is marked DEPOSE and FRANCE. Pin clip holds well. No chips or cracks. This piece has beautiful qualities of movement and great musicality. (SOLD)
