
Siam Sterling Filigree Thai Nakon Brooch

Measures 1-1/4 x 2". This beautiful brooch features hand-cut filigree scrollwork on each side of the round niello center. The brooch shows Ramasoon and Mekala, the god of thunder and the goddess of lightning, in their exciting dance. Marked with the oldest mark of the earliest commercial producer of Siam sterling nielloware. There is an impressed bird-like emblem, then the words STERLING THAI NAKON HANDMADE IN SIAM. C-clasp holds well. No damage to niello or silver. Light patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed. Thai Nakon began production in 1932.
