Coro Floral Bouquet Trembler Brooch circa 1940
Coro Floral Bouquet Trembler Brooch circa 1940

Coro Floral Bouquet Trembler Brooch circa 1940

Item #BY13952

Measures 2-1/2 x 3-1/2”. This magnificent enameled brooch features 5 beautifully detailed flowers – roses, columbine, carnation, and bellflower. The large central rose trembles with any movement, as do the ruby baguette stamens of the bellflower. The carnation is enameled in two shades of blue and the other flowers are enameled in dark and light pink. Green stems and leaves frame the flowers. Brilliant tiny pavee’ white rhinestones and ruby red rhinestones complete the piece and add dramatic shine. The thick gold plating is beautifully intact. The only mark is a faint cursive script “r,” probably part of the word Coro. These early Coro pieces were frequently unmarked or poorly marked because of the thickness and quality of the plating. Safety clasp holds well. No wear to enameling or plating. One tiny white rhinestone is missing and 3 of these tiny rhinestones have darkened with age. These stones have not been replaced because we wanted to leave a piece of this quality and rarity in original as-found condition. Dating is based on the similarity to designs patented by the Coro company between 1938 and 1941.
