Measures 1-3/4 x 2-1/2". This finely crafted openwork brooch has a diagonal band of niello featuring large depictions of Ramasoon and Mekala, the god of thunder and the goddess of lightning. These figures are beautifully etched, with remarkable detail. Marked STERLING and with an S in a diamond. According to Dittell's "Overview of Siam Sterling Nielloware," this mark may be for Siam Jewels, SEE NIN, or SENA. Safety clasp holds well. No wear or damage to niello.
