Extraordinary Coro Enameled Flower Fur Clip/Brooch Duette
Item #BV13103013
Measures 2 x 3-1/2" when both clips are attached to the frame which holds them. When the clips are on the frame, the piece is a brooch. Each of the flowers is a separate fur clip measuring about 1 x 3-1/4". These flowers appear to be either fritillaria or perhaps Campsis viorna. Either way, they're gorgeous. The enameling is very fine, with shades of magenta and peach on the blossoms and rich matte green on the leaves. Prong-set red navettes are the stamens. The stems and flowers are paved with brilliant white rhinestones. Marked Coro Duette in script and PAT. NO. 1798867. This patent is for the holder mechanism that keeps the clips together. It dates to 1931. Pristine condition, with no missing or dead stones, no wear to enameling or plating. Older style of safety clasp holds well. $365.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
