Marius Hammer Enameled Sterling Pin
Item #BT132156
Measures 1/2 x 7/8". This exquisitely crafted guilloche enamel pin has remarkable workmanship. The center is a white enamel "pearl". This is surrounded by a field of shimmering skyblue enamel over finely worked engine-turning. The silver border is in the Arts & Crafts style, with tiny green enamel X's. Marked with the Marius Hammer hallmark and 930S. This indicates a silver purity greater than sterling. Safety clasp holds well. Minimal damage to the green enamel of some of the X shapes, but this is not noticeable without magnification. Normal patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed. Marius Hammer was a pioneer in the development of enamel jewelry, in business from 1847 to 1927. This pin appears to date to about 1915 to 1925. $95.00 (Includes insured shipping to a U.S.A. address)
